Bottils is a character, “a fictional musician” from a forthcoming adventure story titled ‘End of the Continent’. He actually comes from the Mother City; an alternate one of course, with a debut single he composed and produced himself.
‘To Return’ is the title and no lie, it is a one-of-a-kind jam that defines progressive music in all its creativeness and splendour. The song features vocalist, Lokukwazi and it basically expresses a certain idea, a musical concept that paints a sonic, utopic picture that is synonymously Afro-futuristic.
In simpler, elementary terms; it is some nice R&B with a minimal, atmospheric EDM (Electronic Dance Music) vibe to it with its easy and chilled-out mood. Accompanying those instrumental elements are the lyrics; absolutely well-written and adding to the vividness of the tale through the sweet harmonics, and the melodically innocent sound of Lokukwazi’s vocals.
If anything, this number is definitely deserving of the airwave charts. Bottils and this musical project is an admirable example that shows the extent and versatility, art and creativity can go.
